Church of Notre Dame du Val de Grace in Paris. The church is the fruit of the wish of Queen Anne of Austria to raise a beautiful temple to God if he sent her a son. After twenty-three years of marriage, in 1638, the future Louis XIV was born, who laid the first stone on 1 April 1645 and the construction ended at the end of the 1660s with sculptural and pictorial decoration. The works were first entrusted to Mansart, to which Le Mercier was succeeded, having worked notably at the Hotel de St Aignan and the Bibliotheque of Mazarin, and then Le Muet, who attended Le Duc.
