Al-Kharrana western cerimonial hall of the 1st floor in sasanian style with archs lying on columns supporting barrel vaults; the castle was built in the early Umayyad period by the caliph Walid 1st, it is an important example of early Islamic art and architecture; it is a synthesis of different traditional styles that shows the influence of the once new islamic religion; this creates a new style; the entire stucture is typical of sirian architecture, influenced itstelf by roman and byzantin style, with several rooms placed around the main room or the main courtyard.
