MALAYSIAN PRIME MINISTER MAHATHIR MOHAMAD GIVES A THUMBS-UP SIGN DURING THE LAUNCHING OF "KENARI" IN KUALA LUMPUR. The Kenari will replace the Kancil in the UK market, as the latter model will not be allowed to be sold in the UK from October as it did not conform to the latest UK safety standards. Powered by one-litre 12 - valve electronic fuel injection engine, the Kenari was produced to include all the safety features outlined in the new Standard Euro (2) 1998 collision safety standard and is expected to cost between RM37,000 to RM42,000 ($9,700 to $11,000).
