(L to R) Louisa Lejeune, mother of Julie, victim of convicted child rapist Marc Dutroux, Marie-Noelle Bouzet, mother of Elisabeth Brichet who has been missing since 1989 and Carine and Gino Russo, parents of Melissa, another victim of Dutroux attend a committee on civil liberties and internal affairs at the European Parliament in Brussels October 8. The committee was voting on a report into child sex abuse that included a scathing reference to Melchior Wathelet, currently a judge at the European Court of Justice. Wathelet was Belgian Justice Minister in 1992 when he decided to release Dutroux early from a 13-year sentence for multiple child rape.
