Image description

Although long believed to be the last slave ship to import slaves from Africa to the USA The Wanderer was, in fact, the penultimate ship to do so. This happened in 1858, despite the outlawing of the practice many years before, when it brought its illegal cargo of people, of whom 409 survived, in to Jekyll Island, Georgia.
