A German soldier awaits the airdrop of supplies in the encircled Kholm. In the background is a flying Ju 52. During the Kholm Pocket the "Kampfgruppe Scherer" successfully defended the city for 105 days. (A photo of the PK (Propaganda Company) by war correspondent Richard Muck who flew into the pocket at the beginning of March).
