Photo of a unit of an anarchist battle group of the "Staehlernen Kolonne" ("Steel Column") ("Columnia de Hierro") in Puebla de Valverde in the province of Teruel near Valencia in 1936. The unit fought on the Republican side under the flag of the Iberian Anarchist Federation (Federacion Anarquista Iberica, FAI) with the anarcho-syndicalist Trade Union CNT. The unit was composed mainly of Catalans and had no commander. The militia officers pose on and in front of trucks.
