14th century alabaster effigies of Sir Thomas Arderne (d. 1391) holding hands with his wife, Matilda Stafford. Sir Thomas accompanied the Black Prince into Spain in 1367 and fought at the battle of Poitiers in 1356. The drawings of the Arderne tomb were made by Richardson for his 'Monumental Effigies and Tombs in Elford Church', published in 1852.
