Obsequies of St. Rocco (Funerali di san Rocco), by Gualtiero Padovano, 16th Century, fresco Detail. Particular belonging to the cycle of frescoes decorating the room in the lower floor of the oratory known as Scuola di San Rocco; a group of male and female figures surrounds the saint's corpse, lying down on a catafalcque, in a square of the city; on the left a woman, faced backwards, turns her head toward the viewer, while, on the right, a character elegantly dressed raises a hand with a gesture of blessing; behind, an arch flanked by two pillars and surmounted by a rich decoration stands out Italy, Veneto, Padua, Oratory of San Rocco.
