Jul 07, 1953 - Lord Mayor sees progress on River pageant paintings: The Lord Mayor of London today paid a visit to St. Katherine Dock, to inspect the progress of the work of constructing the historical tableaux which are being installed on barges, for the forthcoming Royal River Pageant. Leading the industrial and Commercial Section of the Pageant, will be a 144-feet long barge on which the Port of London Authority's exhibit a model of the “Gothic”, the ship in which H.M. The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh are sailing to Australia and New Zealand, will be presented. The model is 56 feet long
