Image description

Prototype of the new house Phenix “” Phenix Concept House”” located at Domexpo de Meaux, Mareuil-les-Meaux, Seine-et-Marne (Seine and Marne), Ile-de-France (Ile de France), France. Architecture by Jacques Ferrier, 2005. Photography 20/11/05. The Geoxia Group, the first builder of a detached house in France, asked the architect Jacques Ferrier to design a new house more contemporary, closer to current expectations. The prototype of the “Phenix Concept House” has been implemented in the Domexpo de Meaux since 2005. The rationality of the constructive systheme of the Phenix house set up in the 1950s was particularly important to Jacques Ferrier, who praised the simplicity of industrial constructions in his book “strategy of availability”. The metal frame, specific to the manufacturer, offers great freedom of design. Thus freeing the facade of its fruitful role, the choice of clothing materials is vast and multiple: lacquered sheet, wood, brick, zinc... Moreover, the interior space has been designed as a loft: the corridors are removed, the kitchen is open to the living area, the living room in double height is illuminated by a zenithale light. Finally, in order to respond to recent changes in the family unit (reconstituted family) and to new lifestyles (work at home, places for all leisure) an additional space, called “space+“” is detached from the house by a terrace or a glass window.
