France German soldiers, a father and son pictured here, in an infantry regiment near Ypres. Clearly recognizable are the gray active service uniforms, the 98 gun (held by the son), and the field gray coating on the spiked helmet. The father is wearing the so-called Sergeants buttons on his collar, the cross of the third class infantry on his cap and a hand weapon next to the non-commissioned officer's tassel on his belt.
