In the year of 2005, the trade volume between China and Russia reached 29.1 billion USdollars, up 37.1% year on year, released by China's Ministry of Commerce Jan. 11, 2006. China is now Russia's fourth largest trade partner, and Russia is China's eighth largest trade partner.During the January-November period of 2005, border trade between the two countries reached 5.13 billion dollars, growing 35% and accounting for nearly 20% of the total trade volume. The main commodities imported from Russia include timber and crude oil, while living necessities and light industrial products are popular Chinese export items to Russia. The Sino-Russian trade volume is expected to continually rise in the coming new year since this year is the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Sino-Russian Strategic Partnership of Coordination and the first Year of Russia.
