KRISTINA SÖDERBAUM, 1983 The former UFA star KRISTINA SÖDERBAUM (photo) would have turned 90 on September 5. Born in Sweden, she had come to Berlin as a student where she was trained as an actress. She made her career in films by her husband, director Veit Harlan. She embodied the ideal type of German woman propagated by the Nazi regime, among other things in the anti-Semitic incitement film 'Jud Süch'. After the war, Kristina Söderbaum could no longer follow her successes and built up a new existence as a freelance photographer. She died on February 12, 2001 at the age of 88.
