Taronga Zoo horticulturalist Mark McMahon inspects Wollemi Pines, which are some of the world\'s rarest plants, during the opening of the new A.5 million (US.9 million) enclosure called \'Creatures of the Wollemi Pine\' in Sydney December 19, 2000. The enclosure features more than 200 animals from 40 different species, along with some of the 38 Wollemi Pines discovered in 1994 by a group of scientists trekking through the world heritage area of the Blue Mountains in western New South Wales. The rare pines are also known as the Dinasour Tree, since they are from a family of trees present during prehistoric times.
