Image description

The Villa Diodati is a mansion in Cologny near Lake Geneva in Switzerland which Lord Byron rented in the summer of 1816 with John Polidori, and where Mary and Percy Bysshe Shelley, who had rented a house nearby, were frequent visitors. Because of poor weather they spent three days creating stories including Frankenstein by Mary Shelley and The Vampyre by Polidori.
