The Andrea Doria catastrophe. At night, off the Atlantic coast of the United States, the 12,600-ton Swedish passenger steamer Stockholm, due to the thick fog, hit our Andrea Doria turbo-ship bound for Nuova York City. Because of the water taken from the terrible breach, our unit tilted on its side and 11 hours later it sank when the 1134 passengers had already been transhipped on the rushed ships and so did the crew with the General Staff he was saved. However, eight dead and several wounded are complaining. Together with Christopher Columbus, Andrea Doria was our biggest, fastest and most beautiful ocean liner. It dislocated 30,000 tons.
