Image description

In June 1959, Hans Rueesch (1913-2007), a former Swiss racing driver and writer, will show his wife and three children, Hans, Vivian and Peter, the route of his Africa journey at home in Klosters. He will soon be taking it as inspiration for his new book. Rueesch drove numerous car races in Europe in the 30s and won several Grand Prix titles. After an accident in 1938 he gave up his career as a racing driver and started writing books and articles for magazines. Rueesch lived some years in the USA where his novels were very successful and partly filmed. Later he returned to Switzerland, where he was also active in animal and nature conservation and against the pharmaceutical industry.
