Car importers in the Malaysian capital have yet to raise their prices despite the ringgit falling nearly 25 percent since July, but many say a hike may be inevitable if the government increases taxes for foreign vehicles from next year to cut down on the outflow of money. The ringgit on Monday sank to a new 26-year low of 3.1300 to the U.S. dollar after Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad blasted foreign exchange trading, saying it was "immoral" and should be banned.
