As it then leads to an area with a very arid climate , it is an allochthonous rivers, such as the Nile River in Egypt, or the Niger River in Mali. Its watershed drains an area of 721,277 km. The rainy season in the delta coincides with that of Angola, which takes place between October and April and produce the flood of the Okavango River, which begins to be felt in December and takes nine months to complete due to the low gradient of the river , about 60 m to 450 km.
