Saint Anne had three husbands: Joachim, Cleophas, and Salome. From her first husband, Joachim, she had a daughter, Saint Mary, whom she married Joseph (birth of Jesus Christ). When Joachim died, Saint Anne married Cleophe, Joseph's brother. She had another daughter, whom she called Mary again. She married Alphee (birth of the four sons: James the minor, Joseph the righteous (= Barsabas), Simon and Jude). After the death of her second husband, Saint Anne married Salome in the third marriage, of whom she begat a daughter whom she also called Mary. She was married to Zebedee (birth of the two sons: James the Major and Saint John the Evangelist)
