Image description

The wife of the deceased, named Merut "Beloved", is kneeling at the feet of her husband Inty who is depicted in much larger scale sitting at the offering table. She is dressed in a fine garment and wears a collar of tourqoise beads, smelling to a lotus, symbol of renewal and resurrection. The inscription above her head reads "his beloved wife, Merut". In front of Merut are depicted offerings offered to the deceased, including (from top to bottom) bread cut in pieces, wine in the tall and slim hes-jars and a set of vessels used for washing.
