Video description

This piece of footage pre-dates 1958, as the name Massey Harris Ferguson can clearly be seen, and that merger & name existed from 1953 to 1958. The footage could be from the Royal Highland Show of 1952, the last time it was held in Kelso, or possibly another Royal Highland Show venue between 1954 and 1958. The absence of any footage of animals also suggests it may be footage from the 1952 Royal Highland Show at Kelso, as there was an outbreak of foot & mouth that year, and no cloven-hoofed animals were present. This cine footage is from the personal archive of T.S Henderson, formerly of George Henderson & Co, Kelso.
