Image description

Une vue du chateau de Stalker pres de Glencoe sur le Loch Linnhe, Ecosse, 1999 ---- A view of Castle Stalker near Glencoe on Loch Linnhe, Scotland, 1999. In Gaelic the castle was called 'Stalcaire', meaning Hunter or Falconer. It is believed originally to have been the site of a Fortalice (a small fortified building) belonging to the MacDougalls when they were Lords of Lorn, and built around 1320. The castle was purchased and restored by a private owner in 1965 and is now fully habitable.
