Detail. This tapestry is part of a series of six, four intact and three fragmentary, from the Sormani Collection. From cartboards made after prototypes by Cornelis Schut partially accomplished by the artist. Young ladies are playing instruments on a terrace with a balustrade: they are an allegory of music. In the lower and upper parts there are two floral decorations and in the upper part a written can be read: "appease the gods".
