Iraqi school children sit alongside a U.S. missile November 29, after it hit their school in the province of Mosul some 500km north of Baghdad. Iraq said American and British planes bombed a primary school in the city of Mosul in northern Iraq on Sunday, injuring eight people. Western aircraft attacked an Iraqi air defence system on Sunday after Iraq's forces fired on planes patrolling the northern no-fly zone for the fourth time this week, but the U.S. military said it had no evidence that its planes hit a school. The United States European Command (Eucom) said Iraqi forces fired anti-aircraft artillery from sites near Bashiqah, northeast of the town of Mosul, which is about 250 miles (402 km) north of Baghdad. They also used target-tracking radar from a site north of Mosul. FK/
