Image description

Webley .455 inch Mk VI service revolver, 1916. This revolver was manufactured by Webley and Scott Limited in 1916. It belonged to Lieutenant James Cecil Allan Morley of The Duke of Cambridge's Own (Middlesex Regiment) who was wounded twice while serving in France in 1914 and 1915. During World War One (1914-1918) most British officers carried the standard-issue .455 inch Webley Mk IV, V or VI revolvers. These weapons were usually used in hand-to-hand fighting or for personal protection.
