Image description

BOAC (British Overseas Airways Corporation) are assisting in the greatest air evacuation of all time. Day and night refugees wait jam packed in shanty towns on airfield fringes for flight passages for India and in the reverse direction to Pakistan. Thousands are being ferried this way in safety over the troubled frontier areas. In one instance 63 persons were carried in a twin engine Dakota, a record for this type of aeroplane.
