The caricature from 18 September shows an emaciated figure dressed in rags called Germania as a representation of Germany. She stands in front of a mirror and tries out several hats for the various parties and ideological orientations of the Weimar Republic: a cap of the SA, a cleric hat, a revolution cap, a crown, a hat decorated with hammer and sickle, a tophat with black-white-red flag, a cap with the sign of the Iron Front, and a steel helmet which she wears on her head. The picture is signed with the words: "Nothing to wear, but constantly worrying about new hat fashion", alludes to the constant change of government and new elections in the late phase of the Weimar Republic, while the people have to suffer from high unemployment and poverty.
