Fitter’s half-track, ‘A’ Squadron, 1944. Photograph by Major Wilfred Herbert James Sale, MC, 3rd/4th County of London Yeomanry (Sharpshooters), World War Two, North West Europe, 1944. The members of 3rd/4th County of London Yeomanry named in this image are: Sergeant Eric Webb (inside), Jack Shaw, John Byott, Ronnie Grant and Sid Hicks. The M3 Half-Track pictured was used in many different capacities. These included armoured personnel carriers, mortar carriers, self-propelled anti-aircraft guns, self-propelled anti-tank guns and as artillery tractors. From an album containing 266 photographs belonging to Major W H J Sale, MC, 3rd/4th County of London Yeomanry (Sharpshooters).
