Chinoiserie (Main title) Pillement, Jean or Jean-Baptiste In the center, a woman and two men, presumed to be Chinese peasants, play musical instruments on an embankment, next to a frail wooden hut. The scene is framed by trees growing from the edge of the embankment, ending in large flowering branches curving towards each other. In the center, a small landscape is contained in a medallion suspended by a plant garland linked to these two trees. The construction of this rococo chinoiserie panel is based on a subtle interplay between the decorative parts and the scenes depicted. Inventory number: PPP443
