View looking northeast toward the grounds of the rural cemetery built 1836-1839 after the designs of John Notman at 3822 Ridge Avenue. Shows two men in riding clothes, on horseback, galloping on the tree-lined dirt road above the cemetery. Visitors on foot and by carriage approach the main gate of the memorial site visible in the background. Tombs, monuments, and a chapel are visible in the cemetery.
