May 05, 1954 - Blind Man's Bowls: Bowls, the ancient English game which Drake played while he waited to attack Spain's Invincible Armada, is now being played by blind people in London. The blind man plays through the eyes of the skip, the headman of the team, who describes the position of the skip, the headman of the team, who describes the positoin of the jack, the white ball to which the bowler tries to get closest by an imaginary clock, the 12 o clock indicates the position of the stationary jack, another blast indicates the spot at which which the biased ball should be aimed, and the blind bowler is all set to go
