Native Statue for Western Nigerian City.: Bein City Native Authority, Western Nigeria, at the suggestion of the OBA of Benen, has commissioned a statue of Emanotan, a Beni market woman of the 15th. century, revered by the Bini people for her humanitarian work and love of children. It is to be erected over grave near the market place in Benin. The sculpture is Mr. John Danford, who is the British Council's Regional Director in the Western Province of Nigeria. He is working the statue which is 6 ft. tall - in a Chelsea studio. It is to be cast in bronze
