The six winners of the 1965 Elmer Girl qualifier, which took place on 29 September 1964 at the Kongresshaus in Zurich. From left to right: Brigitte Bischof, Christine Zingg, Elsbeth Fuerst, Christiane Bruegger, Kaethi Hofstetter and Irene Eymann. Christine Zingg is elected Elmer Girl the following year. The Elmer Girl election was launched in 1962 by Hanspaul Schellenberg as an advertising campaign for the beverage manufacturer Elmer Citro. The Swiss people took part in the election, which lasted throughout the summer, by means of ballot papers. In 1970 the Elmer Girl was chosen for the last time.
