Overview of the Chapel of Eleonora (Visione d'insieme della Cappella di Eleonora), by Bronzino, 1540-1545, 16th Century, fresco
Whole artwork view. The Chapel of Eleonora in Palazzo Vecchio, completely depicted with frescos; on the left can be seen the Manna falling from Heaven; on the background wall is the canvas portraying the Deposition of Christ, while in the upper side is partially visible the decoration of the vault; in the right wall also appears a wide fresco, portraying the Crossing of the Red Sea; under these biblican scenes, painted with bright colours, as usual in Mannerism, runs a monochrome decoration of balaustrades and ovals medallions, in a trompe-l'oeil effect
