Image description

The Nottingham to Lincoln line was built by the Midland Railway and engineered by Robert Stephenson (1803-1859). The contractors for the line were Craven and Son of Newark and Nottingham who also built many of the stations. The line, opened in 1846 and reached Bleasby in December 1848 when “Bleasby Gate” station was opened. This is likely to be the original (later simplified) design for Bleasby Station.
