A full-length portrait of a young boy, turned to the left, gazing at the spectator, standing, against a wintry landscape, a musket supported in his right hand, wearing a dark brown cap over short light brown hair, doublet and breeches, with black and silver sleeves, white lace colar, pale fawn gloves and boots, a mastiff lying at the left and two whippets, the second half seen, sitting up at the right.
