People of the contrada of Bruco celebrate after winning Siena's famous Palio horse race August 16, 2003. Twice each year, 10 of the city's districts, known as 'contrade', race three times around Siena's central square to win the Palio, a cloth depicting the Madonna. The festivities begin straight away: the people of the contrada receive the Palio banner and with it they go to th Duomo to sing the Te Deum to celebrate.
