Image description

In March 1937, the 450th anniversary of the death of Brother Klaus is solemnly celebrated in Fribourg. Among the arriving guests in front of the Fribourg railway station are also representatives of the Federal Council and three Federalweibel. From left to right in the second row you can see Guiseppe Motta, Philipp Etter and Hermann Obrecht. Niklaus von Fluee, who died in 1487 but was already called a living saint by his contemporaries of the 15th century, was finally canonized in Rome by Pope Pius XII on 15 May 1947.
