Switzerland Emil Georg Buehrle (b/w photo)

The Zurich arms dealer and collector Emil Georg Buehrle, photographed in 1943. Art stolen by the Nazis is is the focus of interest at the Washington Robbery Conference, which will take place from November 30 to December 3, 1998. The looted art documentary published by the Jewish World Congress on 10 November 1998 contains the names of 73 Swiss dealers and collectors. Among them was the Lucerne gallery owner Theodor Fischer and his best customer, the Zurich arms dealer and collector Emil Buehrle, who had to return twelve pictures as early as 1948 after a robbery suit.
