Switzerland Children's Village Pestalozzi Foundation (b/w photo)

Arthur Bill (left), head of the “Pestalozzi Children's Village” in Trogen in the canton of Appenzell Ausserrhoden, Switzerland, lays the foundation together with another person, pictured on April 28, 1946. In August 1944, Walter Robert Corti published an appeal to the public in the magazine “DU”, calling for the building of a war orphans village. The appeal led to the establishment of the village two years later. At the childrens' village, needy children and adolescents from various countries and backgrounds are cared for and supported with their integration.
