Christ is depicted as the Judge of Mankind, standing on a globe and with the attributes of the Sword of Justice and the Lily of Mercy; the small scenes around the figure of Christ show depictions of the corporal works of mercy; at the foot of the painting, below the figures of the Virgin Mary and Saint John, an angel welcomes the blessed into heaven while on the right the damned are being dragged down by devils to hell; Vranke van der Stockt was a pupil of Rogier van der Weyden, who was formerly considered the painter of this triptych; in the 16th century this picture belonged to Leonor Mascarenas, governess of King Philip II; she gave it to the Convent of Nuestra Señora de los Angeles, which she founded;
