10/1803 A framed colour drawing on grey paper, showing: a half-length portrait in profile of Arthur M Browne (1756?-1805), who trained in law at Trinity College, Dublin, and was elected Member of Parliament for Dublin University in the Irish Parliament, 1783 (re-elected 1790 and 1797); he was also Prime Serjeant of Ireland; from Ellen Sharples's diary, October 1803, "Miss Serjeant introduced her cousin Mr Brown, Prime Serjeant of Ireland, to sit to my son [James Sharples Junior] for his portrait. James had just left home for a few days, a great dissappointment as Mr B[rowne]'s stay in Bath was to be very short. Miss S[erjeant] prevailed on me to undertake it, and although excessively nervous I succeeded much beyond my expectations ..."; Ellen Sharples made two copies of this work in 1805
