India's average temperature rose by around 0.8 degrees Celsius between the early 20th century and 2021. Floods and landslides are common during India's monsoon season, when poorly constructed buildings often collapse in heavy rains. Climate change makes the monsoon stronger, with potentially severe consequences for food, agriculture and the economy. The era of the climate refugee: 135 million people will have to leave their homes due to droughts and monsoons. Extreme heat waves, floods and lack of water put areas of Southeast Asia such as India or Nepal in check, where water supply problems are increasingly recurrent. The increase in the temperature of the Indian Ocean, air pollution and the increase in the frequency with which the "El Niño" phenomenon occurs is causing countries such as India or Nepal to be unable to anticipate the effects of the current monsoons.
