Emanuel CARNEVALI (December 4, 1897 - January 11, 1942) Italian poet, writer and translator who emigrated to the United States at a young age to escape the problematic family of origin. After exercising the most diverse trades, he began to enter the literary sphere by sending his writings to publishing houses and editorial offices which soon began to publish them. So he embarked on a literary career and became friends with some American poets and writers including Ezra Pound and Max Eastman. Also note his correspondence towards Italy with Benedetto Croce and Giovanni Papini. He returned home because he fell ill with lethargic encephalitis, hospitalized several times, died in hospital.
