This photo appears in The Making of a Mission by The Bradford Wesleyan Mission, published March 1911, pg 84. The caption reads: 'Saturday Evening Gathering - Southend Hall. The Saturday Evening People's Entertainment becomes increasingly popular, and on several occasions folk have had to be declined admission for lack of room. A short address, dealing with the evils of intemperance or gambling, is given week by week. It is not so big a step to come again on Sunday, after coming on Saturday, and thus not a few have been led to come to our Sabbath Evening Service, which has given us great joy. Shows Reverend Cherry and Sister Gertrude Maltby and was therefore taken in 1910 or 1911.
