Image description

By Bernabei Tommaso detto Papacello, Pagani Lattanzio (half of XVI) Stories of Braccio Fortebraccio, but probably a celebration of Ottavio Farnese. The heir to the House of Farnese would be depicted both in the presence of Paul III while receiving the baton of command of the papal troops, and kneeling at the feet of Charles V the Golden Fleece. The scenes would depict the Schmalkaldic War against the Protestants and the Salt War, framed by grotesques inhabited by the unicorn, symbol of Tiberius Crispus and the papal family
