Maps CC.5.a.441. (previously Maps C.9.b. and before that Maps K.Top.48.25.1b,c. Also previously known as 115.h.4.?). Titled "A Fair Copy of ditto, in twelve Rolls" and "The original Protraction of the South part of Scotland in ten Rolls" in the Catalogue of Maps, Prints, Drawings, etc., forming the geographical and topographical collection attached to the Library of his late Majesty King George the third, etc., London, 1829. Titled "A very large and highly finished colored military survey of the kingdom of Scotland, exclusive of the islands, undertaken by order of William Augustus, Duke of Cumberland, and executed by Lieutenant [afterwards Major-General] William Roy, and other officers, under the superintendence of Lieut.-Col. David Watson, Deputy Quarter-Master-General of the Forces, in the years 1747-1755 drawn on a scale of about two inches to a mile [scale approximately 1:31,680]: it is divided into 38 compartments which are contained in eight cases: a small map is attached, marked with corresponding divisions, to serve as a key to the arrangement [XLVIII.25.]" in Manuscript maps, charts, and plans, and topographical drawings in the British Museum.
