May 10, 1953 - 10-5-53 Rehearsal for the Coronation Procession - A rehearsal for the Coronation procession as held this morning. About 300 troops were used to represent the unite taking part. They left Buckingham Palace at 5 am arriving at Westminster Abbey a little more than half-an-hour later. The troops wore battledress and no bands were used. The State Coach and a few troops to represent the immediate entourage covered the rest of the route. The object of the rehearsal was to practice the marshaling the procession. Keystone Photo Shows: The State Coach drawn by eight Windsor Greys draws up outside the annex at Westminster Abbey up outside the rehearsal today.
